return to RECENT SHOOTS
this amazing young performer, shivali, performed a solo concert of indian classical dance, kuchipudi, to celebrate completion of her training at the sutradhar institute of dance and related arts, under guru nilimma devi.
shivali’s grace and maturity, as both performer and person, moved me. she offered this concert as a fundraiser for the leukemia and lymphoma society and bone marrow cancer society, in honor of a family member and close family friend who were taken from this world by these diseases. atom & i provided photo & video services for the performance and party afterwards, with a partial donation of services, in honor of a friend who survived lymphoma, and a friend who did not.
below are some of my favorites from the performance and party. most of these were shot by atom. some were shot by me. i’ve also thrown into the mix some shot by khadija. all images ordered will be edited to spec. click on an image to view it larger or to LEAVE A COMMENT. video preview coming soon.
