Typically the price for murals ranges between $500-$3000, but it really depends on the project. Could be less or more. I can not make an accurate estimate without seeing the location. When I come out to see a site, I usually hold a free 1/2 hr consultation with the client, then provide the estimate in 3-5 business days afterwards. Some of the determining factors are: complexity & length of the planning phase, size, surface (rough or smooth, surface treatment or priming needed, etc.), detail in imagery, number of painters needed, scope of time in which the project needs to completed, coordination of extra people (as with community projects), or anything else that adds considerable extra time or material cost. Murals can be created on large panels of canvas or wood for future portability & to avoid working on particularly difficult surfaces. It is also possible to commission works that serve as space dividers, either on an opaque material such as canvas, adjoining pieces of plexiglass, or other materials. The possibilities are endless.
